Today’s Devotion
He was a perfectionist and a worrier. She was strong-willed and a free spirit.
They weren’t bosom buddies. They each had separate lives, careers, and ambitions.
Sometimes they argued.
But they made magic on the silver screen.
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. You can’t mention one without thinking of the other.
That’s because they knew how to work together.
The Secret to a Great Duo
It’s called unity: moving together toward a common goal. Psalm 133:1 praises it. “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity” (NIV).
Rogers’ and Astaire’s goal was to create art. They did it – together – without compromising their differences. By working together, they danced their way through 10 movies and left behind a legacy of elegance and joy.
Sharing Goals Brings You Together
What goal do you and your spouse share? Are you moving together in unity to create something beautiful? Has God given you a ministry or dream to share?
What’s stopping you? Do you and your spouse need to go back and practice some “dance steps?” Do you need to apologize and clear the air? Do you need to ask God to help you move together as a couple?
It’s time to dance. To create something beautiful. Together.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, keep us in step with each other. Give us time to connect, share dreams, and live in unity. Amen.
